Great Victorians at Chalke Valley History Festival

We are delighted that three of our Great Victorian authors will be speaking at the Chalke Valley History Festival –the UK’s largest history festival –  on Thursday 29th June 2017, 5pm, at a family event for all ages.

We will hear from Kate Hubbard about Queen Victoria, just eleven when she realised her destiny was to become Queen; from Andrew Billen about the gripping life of Charles Dickens which fed into his work; and Amanda Mitchison on the incredible story of David Livingstone who stopped at nothing to be the first white man to explore Africa.

It is a brilliant festival and worth taking all the family too. All proceeds from the festival have, since 2012, been directed to the Chalke Valley History Trust, which promotes the understanding of history to all ages, but especially children.

You can buy your ticket and find more information about the event here.
