Diana Melly is 78, comes from Essex, loves dancing and lives in Shepard’s Bush with her two dogs. She volunteers in a London prison, is a patron of Dignity and Dying and an ambassador for Dementia UK. She has written two novels, published by Duckworth, and a memoir Take a Girl Like Me (Chatto, 2005). She has four grandchildren.
